You have a Hoover, 2 Hotpoint’s & Zanussi washer in less than two years and a Hotpoint dryer, 😕

Are you in the trade ? If so then I suggest you apply for trade access so that you can take advantage of all the resources available on the trade side.

sorry iadom the reason I change machines is I enjoy doing DIY and as I dont earn alot of money in the job I have, I try to do as best I can with 2nd hand machines I work for the cleansing dept with our local council & I look out for wash, dryer machines that I think are better than the one I already have . I only just got this machine it was thrown out but looked brand new so I took it home hoping that there would not be much wrong with it , which I was hoping I could repair myself saving me money, I hope this answers your question , and would appreciate if you would remove your post as you are trying to insinuate that I work in the trade .
    thanks

    hi muz1kman,
need more information really to diagnose what the fault is. With these condensor dryers water can collect in the back panel next to the rear cooling fan if the appliance is not draining, this can splash on the element causing a earth leak.
The noise you are hearing is probably the pump going. Take it you have checked the belt is on, could be a start capacitor problem?.
    Switch off before testing!
