ParticipantHi
My problem is the machine starts emptying 30 seconds after the wash begins. (Pump turns on). Then the water turns on to try and get the level back up.
Once I correct this fault(with power on/off etc) it will function perfectly for several more washes. After a day it goes back to emptying 10secs to 60secs into the wash cycle.I checked the water level tube top and bottom- seems ok, no blockages.
After I stood the machine up again after laying it on its side to check underneath things got worse.!!!
It immediately started the 1 sec alarm beep as soon as I put the power plug in- I didnt even turn the power on at the machine!.
This always happens now- I cant clear this fault so cant do any washing. The alarm code is 66 (0100 0010)
I rang F/P and all they would tell me was it was “an electronic” problem. !!
The digital board seems to be working as its toggling through all the key presses and diagnostic codes – so my feeling is its something external? The water pressure sensor seems mechanically ok -the ferrite bead is moving up and down anyway with slight pressure to the sensor. But would that initiate an instant alarm on power up anyway.?
In diagnostic mode I can individually toggle the hot and cold solenoids. They both measure 60 ohms – so seem ok
Q1) What else is being monitored on power up??
Is there a list?
– elsewhere someone said the motor position sensor is monitored. ?
where is that? would that cause a power up alarm?Q2)does it matter that the hot water inlet is not attached to anything? there is a slight trickle of water leaking backwards from it when filling – so the solenoid valve could be on its way out. Cause an alarm??
Q3) Out of shear curiosity. := At the top of the water pressure tube there is a fine piece of blue wire inside the tube about 200mms long. It is not connected to anything either end- it just sits there .
What does it do??? im very perplexedQ4) I can toggle through 16 diagnostic words with the Spin Speed buttons.
I get 16 different light combinations
Other than the spin=HOLD+SLOW lights on do the other words have any meaning?Q5) why would laying the machine down on its side affect anything?
Thanks in great anticipationPaul (X Leeds)

66 is the level switch giving readings which the computer board cannot interperate. As the switch is integral with the pcb, this is why you have been told that it’s an electronic problem.
When you disconnect the air hose, the machine must be absolutely empty, otherwise there is water in the air chamber, which will throw the readings out even further.

Hi Penguine
so is 66 definitely a water level problem??
the air tube is quite clean and dry – no water
But why would that create an immediate error on power on?
What now?
Thanks
Paulps -and whats the piece of blue wire for inside the water level tube? (see Q3 above)

The blue plastic core is to stop the hose kinking and shutting off air flow.

Smart Drive has a “power on, self test” and will alarm if any of the values are out of “normal range”
