ParticipantTwo questions are 40-cm top loading washing machine (snap shut drum) machines any more unreliable that there 60-cm front loading brothers?
Any recommendations when it comes to brand:
Electrolux EWT12420W
Hoover HNT5146A
Service M620TL
Whirlpool AWE6517
Hotpoint WT400This seams to be a growing in popularity this type or machine but not much about them online.
Thanks

KeymasterHi Laboy,
I don’t really know the machines as they are not popular in the UK at all. Are these UK models or EU ones?

KeymasterPersonally I’ve not had a lot of experience with them and, what little I have, hasn’t been too good in all honesty.
I used to cringe every time we got a call on one. 😉

Hi Laboy
The Whirlpool is the best from that list, we have sold quite a few. I can`t remember the last time we had a service call on one. As for the Hotpoint that`s another story 😉

Hi Don,
Thanks very much for the advice, I have a room that measures 202cm x 105cm, in that I have to fit a fridge dishwasher sink ether a washer dryer 😡 or a separate units 😕
I was going to get a Zanuzzi ZWD14270W washer dryer, but with everyone recommending that separate units are best I will probably get Whirlpool (90x40x60) 40cm top loader, and a White Knight 38AW compact dryer (67x50x47cm)Its quite an rare type of drum on them considering you basically open the side of the drum up then close it, I would gather that it would improve washing efficiency having a completely enclosed drum, and I should not have to worry about door seals perishing 🙂
Anyone else have opinions on this kind of washing machine ❓ or would I be best going with the washer dryer ❓
Thanks 😀

Don`t do it Laboy you will certainly regret it in years to come. Stick with the slimline washer and the compact dryer.
