    Hello,

I have noticed that my dishwasher is not using the Salt put into the machine. I thought my husband had been topping it up and he thought I had, but it seems neither of us have the machine simply isn’t using it as the level has hardly, if it all, altered.

The machine itself is probably about 5 years old.

We moved to a hard water area several months ago, not sure if this has had an impact on it.

    Thank you.

Model number off door inner would really help but I would surmise a regenertion valve fault.
You will of course need to contact your water supplier for their hardness readings so that you can adjust accordingly (Unless you are using those 3 or 4 in 1 tabs. You may need additional salt in cases of extreme hardness areas)

    Hi
If required the regeneration valve (should read 2-3K ohms, unplug appliance when attempting this) is p/no 166875 and is available by emailing spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk 😉
Another thought is that for some unknown reason, the hardness setting (adjusted electronically IIRC) may have turned itself off or onto a very low setting.
You will have to refer to your manual, it will entail holding a button in whilst powering up IIRC 😉

Ok, thank you very much for your help.
We were given the dishwasher but not the manual so will try and locate both of those.

    Thanks again.
