Re: Disc
I think it will fall on deaf ears I’m afraid.
Talking to someone in Lux who is senior on spares I was informed that it is cheaper and more speedy to deliver TDS Online, this was two years ago. Much like the Connect DVD of old I think it’s set to go and that’ll be that.
The only effect it does have really is for engineers in the house, you’d have to have a 3G capable laptop to access the information.
I’d also wager that TDS Online will become subscription enabled so they are not restricting the information merely changing the medium of delivery. They’d argue, probably successfully, that just like paper manuals, microfiche and CD ROMS that the DVD had run it’s course and that they can deliver more, for less, using an online service. The inconvenience is regrettable, but unavoidable.
Doesn’t help engineers in the field, especially in rural areas I know, but I don’t think there’s a lot that we can do about it. 🙁
