Bosch SMS 6702 GB Help

We recently moved into a new house about a month ago and it came with a Bosch Dishwasher. It was been running perfectly fine until now. When we try to start it the delay timmer will just keep blinking, non stop. We took out the filter and rinsed it off and everything but it still does it. Finally we walked away to go outside and check the drainage hose and when we returned it was on and seems to be doing fine. This is the 2nd time it has happened. We are not originally from the UK so this is new to us. Is there anything we should be doing daily to help maintain it. Thank you.
