    Chaps i need your advice.
Yesterday the man from Comet came to replace the door.
He tested it and all was fine.

I loaded up some stuff and washed away. However, when the cycle had finished the door lock light went off, but the door would not open. So i waited 5 minutes and still the door would not open.
I remeber that the enigineer had given the the machine a slight wack near the door handle and told me that sometimes the door, if stuck would open after a quick hit.

This now seems to be the only way to get the door lock light to come on and the door to lock and to open the machine once it has finished a cycle.

Shall i re-call the enigineer or can i mend this problem easy myself?

As always your help is very much appreciated.

It needs a new door switch. This is quite a common problem on these machines. It is easy enough to change but if it’s under warranty you should get Comet back.

    Thanks Phidom.
I thought he replaced that two weeks back when i reported the problem.
As that is what they thought was wrong with the door in the first place.

a ‘whack’ on the door should not be needed, if it sticks just push the door at the handle area, you will then prob hear the click as the interlock releases, usually caused by the door catch not springing back quite enough, when it locks the pin in the interlock then gets stuck, the push should give the pin just a mm more space to allow it to release
    hope that makes sense
