ParticipantIndesit WIL153UK….22 months of age before it died (is this a record I wonder?) 8)
Symptoms of the patient = “Set on a 30 degree wash, and hour later came into the utility room to find it red hot, steam pouring out of the soap drawer the front of which had melted and fallen off!”
I get there and sure enough the front of the dispenser had melted a bit 😈
I switched it on and it was like it was on speed, crack and downers all at the same time. 🙁 It was spinning, filling, pumping and every single LED was flashing like an October tramride between Blackpool and Cleveleys and all in perfect harmony!
I’ve done all the usual tests (like ya do) I even tried dealing a pack of Tarot Cards on its worktop whilst it was having a fit in the hope of inspiration? (I couldn’t get Mystic Meg on the phone at the time :() The tealeaves left in my cuppa also led me nowhere?
Please can you advise what the problem might be, where does my customer go from here? 😈April 3, 2008 at 4:51 pm #247817admin

22 months, thats ancient for one of these beasts, one a few weeks ago, 14 months old, sock jammed behind inner drum, sealed drum job, customer wasn’t interested in the manufacturers maximum repair charges as she was so disgusted by the thought of having to have a complete drum change on a ‘new’ machine. 😥

You need to sprinkle some magic dust on Indesit machines and wave your majic wand !!
My majic wand is a 4 pound lump hammer !!Scraped four Indesit M/C last week !! all under 2 years old !!

Yep, meet at least 2 or 3 merloni products BER each & every week. I personally write down every badge name that on a card that i think should be avoided by my cust when she/he shops for a replacement.
Trouble is, the list is bloody HUGE.. :rolls:

You could always give them a “Buy” card with ISE on it 😀 .

Well if the customer gives the impression they’re gonna be looking at high end Bosch or Miele, then i certainly do always mention ISE as an alternative Chris. As i dont sell machines i just tell them to have a peek at UKW and see what they think. 😉

whats all this panic about?? 😆 all you need is, a console panel, drawer, drawer front, possibly a dispenser assy, then a module, eeprom & thermistor, easily fixable, only 30 mins work, easy job, dont scrap it, it will easily go on for at least another 6 weeks with all those parts, and its far too big to fit into a ‘blue box’ kerb side recycling box anyway 😆
