ParticipantOur Bosch Washer dryer has got a wire stuck today. Is it possible for a ‘normal’ bod to get out!! Bosch only make one type of intergrated washer/dryer.
Also I spock to Bosch a week ago as our machine has been really smelling. I did the three hot washes and scrubbed the jets etc as instructed by them (but actually the draw and roog clean anyhow). It still smells. I think that not all the water is draining away somehow?? Filter also clean/ It has a anti-flood device thingy attached….
cheers

Just read the useful info on forum re: bad smalls so will try again with maintenace wash and Ariel tablets – as I am guilty of using liquid and at low temps….
So just bra issue!

Hi
If you are lucky and very careful, run your hand thoroughly around the drum inner; the end of the bra wire maybe protruding 😀 Grab it carefully with a pair of pliers, job done.
If this isnt the case then I would seek pro help from the repairs@ link on the left 😉Greg

No its not through. I’ve also had a look with a torch… Is it fairly easy to get between the drums from the rear of the machine? Not sure where the heater is on it so if anyone knows it will be tricky I won’t bothre pulling out.

Can anyone offer any more advice? I’ve now tried 3 engineers and no-one wants to come!! Bosch themselves say they will send an engineer but not until Friday….. I’m a bit stuck as have only 3 weeks until I give birth until my 2nd child and we are also lambing – this means I’ve got a big build up of clothes that I’m not allowed to touch due to pregnant women and lambing sheep being a big no no! I need to wash!!! (plus wet bedding off a naughty toddler!!)
One company said that Bosch machines tend to spit the bra wires out into the drip tray/filter. I can’t see how it would fit..Is this the case? WOuld save me the £70 for Bosch….
Starting to sound like a real sob story!!

Are you sure that is the correct model number? The Bosch website shows blow up diagrams of the machines with part number information. I tried to find this information for the model number you give in the heading but it is not recognised:
https://www.bosch-eshop.com/eshop(bD1lbiZjPTAwOQ==)/bosch/gb/indexa.htm
You click on the above link then enter your model number in the “appliance search” box.
Generally we would try to retrieve a foreign object trapped between the drums by removing either the sump hose from the bottom of the outer drum or the heater. Bosch machines sometimes have a base which prevents access to the sump hose from underneath. In such cases it may be necessary to remove the cabinet front. To do this you normally remove the soap drawer and take out any screws thus exposed. You also have to detach the door seal from the cabinet front and either remove the door switch or unplug it’s wiring. The cabinet front is now just held on with screws along it’s bottom edge, which may be covered with a plastic trim panel. As usual, unplug or isolate first!April 7, 2008 at 6:24 pm #248008gegsy

Yes the model number is correct Phidom but only showing diagram of fascia for all four in the range; so I cannot be sure where heater is :con:Greg

WVT is Balay-built, so heater will under the tub at the front.

This isn’t for the faint-hearted!
You’ve unplugged the machine, and you’re POSITIVE the wire’s still there…..OK,-often the wire gets trapped under the heater and won’t cause bother IF it stays there.
get a big torch stand it in the drum, poke your head in and squint through the drum perforations….by juggling the drum, your head and the torch, you should be able to make out the heater and the wire…..tilt the machine forward and use a thin wire (piece of coathanger?-with a loop at the “handle” end)poked through the drum and used to flick the wire to the front.
A Mechanic’s “magnet-on-a-stick can then be fed between the tub and drum (peel the door-seal back enough for access) and hoick it out.very tedious but no dismantling…..the quicker alternatives, like pulling the heater, are only good if you are competent . an engineer will be costly
IMO you should consider using a launderette until one of the forum contacts can attend…I’m pretty confident that A- bosch will nail your hat on
B… engineers on this forum are an honest bunch who will treat you fairly.good luck with the lambing, my mate got out of sheep a few years ago and Sucklers have just about finished calving. 🙂
