This machine is about 10 years old. After using it today the pre-wah light was flashing and the clothes had not been spun. When I tried it again I noticed that te drum does not revolve at anytime. It seems to go through the cycle but without the drum revolving at all. I’ve checked the filter and the drain hose and these seem OK.
Any advice would be gratefully accepted.
    Thanks.

Probably worn motor brushes. I’m not sure about your model but many Bosch machines of that era require the motor to be dismantled to change the brushes, a job probably best left to the experts.

    Thanks Phidom.

Took your advice and got an engineer out. Brushes worn out as you suggested. Also got him to change hot water hose as it was weeping a bit.
Total cost including parts and labour was £61 which I did not think was bad. He had to remove the motor to change the brushes. I probably could have done it myself but you never know what may go wrong!

I perhaps didn’t explain too well when I referred to leaving it to the experts. I meant you would probably be best leaving it to the experts if it turned out to be the type of motor that has to be dismantled to change the brushes. The other type of motor has loose carbons on springs that can be removed after disconnecting the brush wires.
