KeymasterWas wondering how many doses you get in the Glisten product in the shop ❓
Anyone tried this yet? If so what do you think?
Thanks

It’s one dose Gary, dishwasher cleaners tend not to be cheap for some reason. The Affresh washer cleaner is cheaper for some reason that defies all logic other than I guess there’s more washing machine out there than dishwashers.
I’ve tried it here and it does what it says on the tin basically but I’ve given some to a couple of people to give it a whirl so it’s not just me saying that.

Also meant to ask if it descales or would you recommend a seperate product for that?

KeymasterI don’ think it does Gary although it will have builders in it I expect that will remove some, I don’t have access the closely guarded formula.
However if you use salt then that really shouldn’t be an issue inside the machine as the water is softened. If you you’re in a hard water area, I’d always recommend using pukka dishwasher salt rather than relying on the claims made that the tablets can do it all.

KeymasterRe: Glisten Info?
We do have mild hardwater and we do use salt although I’m not always that good in keeping it topped up 😳
We had a problem all of a sudden recently where we were getting bad white powder residue. It looked like the water pressure was very low when opening the door, the arms weren’t spinning.
Gave everything a clean and ran a cleaner through it and it seems a lot better now but using a cleaner is not something I normally do (Once a year maybe 😕 )
I’ll have to pay more attention to a cleaning regime.
I’ll give this a go and see how I get on.Thanks

Do you mean something this is what you’re seeing?
TBH I know that everyone says clean the dishwasher once a month but that’s really dependent on the use. I tend to find that so long as it’s done every couple of months fully, spray arms cleaned an a cleaning cycle done, then they’re fine. The only bit that really needs cleaned pretty regularly is the filters to make sure there’s no food in there. For most people, not all of course but most, this is usually fine in my experience.

It was a very light powdery film left on the door and very obvious on the glasses.
You could run your finger along the door and it would come off very easily. It would also wash off the glasses.
I assumed it was the detergent that wasn’t being rinsed off?We are using the simply dishwasher detergent.
All pretty much fine again now though. No deposits at all in the dishwasher.
