    I have a broken dial on the washing machine that was just spinning so i cant just fit the dial in same position. It seems that the dial can do in 2 / 3 different positions and the may align. Is there a wasy to tell the default position of the dial? Maybe by running any random program or by looking at the timer cam?

    I suggest you carefully look again. You should find it will only go on one way onto the timer spindle/cam and also one way for engaging in the tenons of the programme indicator dial. Obviously you have to rotate the indicator dial to line up with the other parts.
