    Prima LPR813/01 single oven. 857925015501. 390608013737.

This basic single oven is driving me mad. Is it really the case that when you want to use the oven, you turn the knob to select the function (fan oven) and then have to press ‘OK’ button on the clock to start cooking?
I’ve tried to remove the auto function as the elderly couple hate it’s continual interference. It also cuts out periodically. The only way to clear the fault is to unplug and plug in again; the clock then has to be reset. It will work OK for a few days.
I connected the clock relay wires together and yes, the oven ran perfectly regardless of the clock setting. One drawback – the oven lamp is on continually.
So it seems this PCB controlling the clock is even responsible for the lamp supply. 😕
Anyone had any problems with these clocks? The owners would like me to disable the auto function as is possible with any other oven. Is this possible or is the clock faulty?
    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Steve.

    Hi

The relay shouldnt make any difference to the light as the power for the light should come from the switch bank and not the relay.

    Hi, Bryan!!
Yep, I know it sounds strange, but when the 2 wires are removed from the relay and plugged together, the lamp stays on even with the selector switch in the Off position. I had exactly the same oven at a different address about a fortnight ago. Tried every combination to get the oven to work manually only, but the result was the same. Lamp in the oven lit all the time. When the wires are joined the lamp must receive a permanent live from somewhere. I have looked hard at the selector switch to see if I could use one of the switches on it to break the live supply when the selector was at “0”. No spare ones.
    I think I need a wiring diagram if such a thing exists………. 😕
    Anyone have one????

    Thanks for the reply,

    Steve.

    Hi Steve

I’ll see what I can do on the wiring diagram. But looking at the details it looks like it was made by the whirlpool group.

    Hiya,
85 number doesn’t appear to be correct. However, I’ve got the wiring diagrams for you for the nearest match to that number.
If you pm me your email address I’ll send them over.
I’ve looked at the diagrams and you’re right, there is a 2nd live feed that bypasses the switch. White/Blue wire from P6 on the selector is the 2nd feed.

Re: Prima LPR813/01 oven clock confusion.

    Thanks very much!!

It seems the P6 wire is the answer. I’ll chop it, loop out the PCB relay and report back if all is well. The switch then is the only means that the lamp can receive power.
Both of these ovens are owned by pensioners – both detest them due to the clock problem – but otherwise the ovens seem to be quite good units. To convert them to manual operation only is exactly what these customers want.
I am looking forward to sorting this problem.

Thanks again Brian for your time and effort!!

    Steve.
