    Hi,

Just recently the above oven has stopped heating up properly. It does get reasonably hot but food takes much longer than it should to cook (if at all). The fan appears to be turning, although a month or so it did not always come on straight away. Any ideas? Could it just be the heating element about to give up?

    Thanks
    Colin

Is this the top or main oven that has the problem?

hi i belive you need a new fan motor and i belive we talking about the main fan oven at bottom , also the stat maybe out of calibration or faulty so it saying 200c when is really 150 c but
If fan has stopped at all it will requies a new one and you will likely start getting strange noise soon , the stat sits above the fan so if the fan not working correctly stat is reaching heat to fast while rest of oven is not
If we talking about the top oven it don,t hav a fan but has a cooling fan above it.

    Oven fan element is here

    Oven fan motor is here

Both are known to fail and are stock lines.

    Thanks for the replies.

Sorry it’s the main oven that has the problem. I think it sounds more like the fan motor that is the problem because it has definitely not come on some times and is quite noisy. How easy is it to fit a new fan motor?

    Hi Colin,

If you’re reasonably handy then it’s not a huge challenge.

If you’re not, it’s time for pro help.

You will need to take the power off the oven totally for safety.
