    my dishwasher is 2 years old and out of warranty. It has stopped with water in the bottom. I can reselect a program and the lights come on and the program beeps but nothing happens. We experienced a power cut that evening, don’t know if this is significant? Any advice would be appreciated.

    First action on start-up should be to run the drain pump – can you hear a faint humming noise after you press the button? If yes, the pump will be blocked.

    as P says, but if there is no ‘hum’ either then may be a door switch problem, good luck

    There was no hum so i ordered and fitted a new switch! Bingo! thanks for your help and advice. 😀
