Has anyone any ideas why my WMA40p is not rotating? Motor tries to run up, begins to spin then the motor shuts off after about 1 second. Changed, control panel and brushes tried it with belt disconnected and tried pressure switch but to no avail, any ideas or a wiring diagram please
    Cheers

if it runs fast for 1 second then stops it will be because the module is not getting a reading from the motor tacho, mounted on rear of motor, may be cracked or more likely a break in the wiring from motor to module.

    Power off if investigating.

Have a look at the back end of the motor. There is a magnet on the end of the spindle and a coil surrounding it, mounted on the motor casing. This is called a tacho sensor. If the magnet has come loose or the coil windings have broken the electronics will get no motor speed measurements and will shut the motor down.

Thanks for your help guys. Cables to control panel are ok. Can I get tacho sensor seperately or is it a motor change?
