My dishwasher is coming up with an error light first on the left (the rinse option). The dishwasher has stopped and there is water in the bottom. The error code isn’t in the manual and I have no idea what to do next. The dishwasher wont restart and pressing the programme button does nothing.

    Any advice please?

Flood protection has been operated – the tray under the machine has water in it. This must be drained out and the leak found.

Power off if you intend to do this yourself.

The dishwasher light had gone out when I returned to it and now it appears not to have any power to it. The programme button doesn’t do anything – ie, it doesn’t even beep anymore.

This sounds rather more serious than I first thought – is this likely to be a failure of the main circuit board? I have checked the fuse in the plug and I have checked the socket and both are okay.

Possible that the board has failed – I’d check the mains suppressor first (where the mains cable joins) as they do seem to have a habit of blowing up!
