Participanti have just after 7 hours fitted a new door seal as my washer was leaking from the bottom. Unfortunately it “still leaks” Can any one tell me what i might ave done wrong, the only thing i can think of is that i didn’t use any sealant?
Help please 😥

Do you have an Indesit or a Servis? M3008W is a Servis model number. 😕

If the leak is exactly the same as before are you sure it was the seal leaking in the first place? Door seals should definitely not need any sealent when fitting.

Does it leak as soon as it starts to fill or is it only when the water level rises above the door seal? Try letting it fill to just below the bottom of the seal then stop the machine. Has it started to leak?

Just tried it as you said and it starts to leak straight away.

It starts to fill from the soap dispenser, the water goes stright to the door seal, looks like that is what is making it leak?

you did seal the drain spout on the bottom of door gasket into the hole in the tub didnt you ? otherwise it will leak worse smartin

IIRC the hose from the dispenser to the tub attaches to the tub just to the left of the doorseal at about the 10 o’clock position. Is this attached correctly and sealed to the tub?

no im talking about the door seal, at the very bottom of the door seal ( 6 o’clock) the should be a small angled rubber tube about 4 centimeters long with a lip on it that attaches to a 3 centimeter hole on the front of the tub on the bottom, the best thing to do is unplug it release the gasket off of the shell ( not the drum ) feel underneath door gasket at 6 o,clock if you feel a hole in the drum then the door gasket isnt fitted right or you have the wrong gaket for that model as there are 1 or 2 that fit smartin

Smartin, I put the drain spout ino the correct position but did not use a sealant 😳 What sealant should i use now?
When the water left the dispenser it looked like it was entering the gap between the door seal and drum?
Flyman,
I have just checked the hose as you said but that looks ok.
Thks

evostick impact is a good glue to use, the tube must be seated in the hole not through the hole. they are a pain to fit iv had them leak after fitting ,1 last thing just to rule out anything else what was actually wrong with the old door gasket ?

SMARTIN,
Just checked the tube and it is “in” the hole, so are you saying that it should just be glued to cover the hole or slightly in it?
Well the machine was leaking with the old gasket on so I thought that a new one would fix the leak 😳

if it didnt have any obvious signs of leaks or holes and gasket and tube are fitted correctly i would start looking elswhere, these are quite prone to leaks from the outer tub, without looking at it its almost impossible to tell i can only go on past experience with these machines, if it is nothing obvious i would suggest calling an engineer, our repairs@ on the left will have someone in your area smartin
just remember water and electricity do not mix too well.
