Hi, I’ve just removed the thermostat from by Hygena APM6321SX fridge and a small amount of blue coloured watery fluid came out of the tube which contains the capillary. Is this ok? After fitting the new thermostat, do I need to reseal the tube opening with silicon sealant?

    Thanks
    Rob

Re: blue coloured liquid when replacing thermastat

Hi, I fitted the new thermostat and the fridge ran for about 10 mins then the compressor switched off. It won’t switch on again…. If I bypass the thermostat then the fridge runs fine (gets very cold).

I guess I could have a faulty thermostat but I guess this is probably unlikely (2 broken thermostats). Is there anything else that I could try? Is the fact that some water (with green bits in) came up from the tube that houses the capillary when I withdrew the capillary a problem?

    Thanks
    Rob
