Does anyone know whether or not the Lofra Electric and Gas Oven Range Cooker – CD96GGE/C – needs hard wiring, or does it come with a standard 13 amp plug?
Any info on this would be much appreciated.

I don’t know this particular make but the rule of thumb is single electric ovens only need a 13 amp supply but double ovens need to be hard wired. As it is a range cooker I should think it has 2 or more ovens so it will be hard wired with 6mm cable and a 40 amp double pole isolating switch. If you went for an all electric range cooker you would probably need to have 10mm cable.

Sorry, just looked up the spec. of this appliance and it has both a gas and an electric oven so it is effectively a single oven for electrical purposes. The oven elements total less than 3 Kw so it will be a 13 amp supply.

Thank you for your generous response – the extra info is extremely useful. At present we only have an old freestanding gas cooker (inherited with our new house) and don’t particularly want to install a new cooker point.
