Crusty
ParticipantHi, I’ve got a Creda C361e (concept) and at lunchtime today my girlfriend put a rack into it (main fan oven), reesulting in ‘a loud bang and some sparks’. This blew the fuse in the fuse box. After a quick trip to Homebase as I wanted my lunch and couldn’t remember were I’d put the fuse wire, cooker was working again, well it cooked dinner to the usual standard.
The only trouble is it’s acting a little strange.
Full list of symptoms are….
Internal light doesn’t appear to be working (this may be circumstantial, I don’t know if it was working before, but I’m assuming that it was).
The fan in the fan oven won’t turn off except for when you open the oven door (yes, I know about the separate cooling fan)
The light by the controls seems to be working correctly as regards temperate, but when you open the oven door, it now comes on (!!)
Any idea what the problem is?

If I were to hazard a guess, it sounds like a problem with the “trigger board” – the PCB round the back of the cooker. It acts as a central switching point. Oven fan should stop when the door is opened – there is a separate switch for this purpose, but obviously should turn off with the thermostat.
Power off if you plan to investigate this yourself.

Yep, though that some sort of electrinics would be the problem.
Next question, is it easy to locate in the cooker and how much roughly will it cost to buy one?
I’ll check prices myself but I’m not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on what I’m looking for.
(I know all about turning power off, my brother used to be an electrical engineer before he died)

Right, we’re talking one of these?
In that case not a problem, aside for it’s location. I don’t want to dismantle the whole thing only to find out I just had to remove two screws!April 20, 2008 at 7:23 pm #249862Penguin45

PCB is pretty obvious with the rear cover off – smack in the middle.
If you can give me the full model designation, I should be able to find you a part number.
Power – don’t be offended; future readers have absolutely unknown electrical competence and the threads are read widely and repeatedly.

Full model number is C361EK
Not offended by power comment, just wanted to assure you that I know what I ‘m doing.
(Mind you, I did almost cut my fingers off trying to straigten the blade in a plugged in jigsaw last week……)

OK, if required, p/no is 6222118 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you a competitive quote. Besides, we need the money to run the site 😆 .

No, but I can’t think of what else could be causing the problem.
Anyway, the only way of checking I have is swapping out!

It sounds like a stat problem to me,what with the led coming on when you open the door.

Thermostat is working fine. When the ovens on, the Led lights up uptil temp is reached and then goes off, as it should.
Oven also gets no hotter (within the range you would expect) as 20 mins after it got up to heat I turned it up and the light came on immediately.
Why would the stat affect the element fan and the interior light?

Right, I’ve got the back, sides and top off. No sign of a trigger board anywhere.
Where do I find it?
