We have a 3 year old integrated dishwasher. It got stuck on the pump out stage of the programme after the pre wash and now it seems stuck in that phase. When you switch it on (after resetting the programme) it just tries to pump out water although there is none in the machine. Error code 20 shows on the display but the waste is not blocked because I have poured a couple of litres of water in the machine, switched it on and the pump pumps it out of the machine – then continues to pump. I have tipped the machine on it’s side, back, front, wiggled it about and it is dry underneath. Any ideas would be welcome.

It thinks it’s still got water in. Pressure switch stuck in the full position most likely – switch may be jammed or the system is not depressurising.
Power off if investigating.
