    Hi,
3-4yr old Bosch SRS43A02GB has started cutting out about 1 hour into Normal and Eco washes. Quickwash at 35 Deg C usually okay, but sometimes cuts out as well. When it cuts out, the leds go out and machine appears dead for 10 minutes or more. It will often come back on for a while then cut out again. Water is very hot at this point!

I’m suspecting a temp sensor problem? my reasoning on this is that if a sensor failed there would be a back up over-temperature sensor to kill the power. Or am I completely on the wrong track?

    Any suggestions appreciated.

You can assume I have an Engineering background (just not consumer goods like this) and am competent with Electrical installation.

I’m really regretting buying Bosch – Washing machine cost over £300 in repairs so far (less than five years old) and dishwasher is looking likely to go that way too (detergent door and filters already caused problems). Maybe I’m just unlucky?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

IIRC, the overheat stat shuts off the heater, not the machine. Possible that the mains suppressor is breaking down, or the power supply in the PCB.

In past experience, and in no particular order –

1/ Mains plug at rear melts into insulation tar when hot and moves it from making good contact with socket.
    2/ Module
