ParticipantHi Folks
Feel embarised to put this one on the forum but went to above tumble drier yesterday making a roaring noise.. suspect motor bearings – but possible jockey pully..
But as usual Bosch have excelled at the IQ test in the removal of the side panel to gain access to motor ansd pulley… It looks like it might be somthing simple but must admit to it elluding me..
The side panel is fitted with screws on top and back and looks like it is fitted into pegs on the bottom but the prob I was having was with the front fixing.. It feels like it is on a peg about quarter of the way down from the top as I could get movement on the panel but as it fits between the front panel and frame there was no obvius way to release ether the panel or the peg on which it was located as the peg was not visible.. Tried a gentle prise with a screwdriver to try and lift the side panel over the peg to no avail..
Other than that looks like a major strip down to get the front panel off to release the side panel off the peg..Know there must be someone out there who must know how to get the panel off before I waste and hour taking off the front panel just to find that if I had just done somthing simple it would have released..
Thanks
Mick

Hi
Remove the lid and you will see some screws that attatch the side panel, one has nylon bracket too, remove these.
At the rear, remove all the screws retaining the panel you wish to remove.
At the front, remove the plinth for vented dryers or tne Condenser flap for Condensers and you will have another 2 screws to remove.
The side panel should now be lifted upwards and out.
Hope that helps.

on recent models have seen a screw at base of facia pannel that goes throught to side pannel which is hard to access, had to virtually remove facia. also check for a screw under bottom of side pannel (like hotpoint range)

You may be thinking of the WTA4007 model?? Gorenje type machine?? Yes the front panel can be removed and as you say the facia has to be removed too and can be a bit tricky not to pull all the wires from the switches! 🙂
Check on the WTA3100 that the fan has not come loose in the heater box, very often the retaing nut falls off and the fan spins on the shaft.
Any sign of wear or damage and the fan will need replacing, I always refit a ‘Nylock’ type nut to stop the problem re-occuring.

Thanks for the replies folks..
Looks like it might be a facia off job as feels like the fixing that’s stoping me is probley at the bottom of that.. tried to take that off while I was there but that didn’t look a simple job either.. altho the fixing felt slightly lower than that..
Don’t think there are any bottom screw fixings to the panel as it looks like it was a plastic base with locating pegs to hold the bottom of the panel, it was just this front fixing about quarter to a third if the way down that was giving me the problems and felt like a peg or possible a screw in a large hole as I could actually move the panel back and forth about a sixteenth on an inch on the fixing.
It’s just a vented type btw with vents on sides and rear..
Looks like it might be an improved !!! later model with a fixing under the facia which looks a pig to remove, rather than the unimproved model that was a sraight forward panel removal… sorry for the sarcasm… :rolls:
Thanks again
Mick

Are you sure of the model number you gave us Mick? Because nationalhomecare was spot on in his first post as to how to remove the side panels on a WTA3100GB/ 😕
Removing the front kick panel will reveal 2 screws, then simply lift the panel up off the plastic base locating lugs and away! 🙂
