    My washing machine is banging very loudly when on the spin cycle. Having looked at forums with the same problem, I think it might be a loose weight inside. I would check but I can’t get the lid off! Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Hi

    The lid is held on by a couple of screws on the rear, remove them then push the lid forward with the power off.

    Thanks Stripey. I have tried it that way but it wasn’t for budging. As long as there’s no hidden screws I didn’t know about, I’ll go ahead and man handle it!

    personally, id push the lid backwards

    and dont be afraid of giving it a good smack with the palm of your hand!!!

    it will come off, you just gotta be a bit tough with it

    Backwards did the trick. Thanks guys.

    Right enough one of the weights was loose. A wee nip with a spanner and it’s sorted.
