ParticipantHi,
My IKEA Whirlpool DWF406 is continuosly blinking. It runs most programs for a while, typically it runs until it open the lid to the cleaning agent tablet and then stops… Sometimes it runs a full program.
The blink-code is 1-0-1-0-1-0, that is continuos blinking.
Any clues? The machine is 4 years old.
Regards / Joakim

This is rather strange – continuous flashing usually means that the NTC sensor (temperature probe) is faulty, but this would normally cause the programme to abort, with much beeping noise. The programme wouldn’t actually run at all.
Have you tried cancelling the programme? Hold down the start button until the ligh goes out and the machine beeps. Shut the door, drain pump should run for about a minute, then stop. Open door, switch off, switch back on, then try running a programme.

Hmmm, yes. I does indeed beep of course, forgot to write that…
I have tried to do the restart procedure several times, typically it fails a couple of times (but runs for 5-10minutes, one time it ran almost to program end). After several unsuccesful tries it suddenly runs a full program.
Do you still think it might the NTC? / Joakim

😕
looks like I have just the same problem –program works for about 30/45 minutes, then stops with continuous beeping.
(it is possible to cancel the program, drain pump works – but then I start again from the beginning with the same result.)
That had actually happened a few times earlier. Inbetween the program managed to complete several times, but now it doesn’t any longer…Any ideas??? thanks a lot!

Beeping just tells you there is a fault – the pattern of the flashing start lamp is an error code.

ParticipantI think it is the NTC… I agree with you Penguin45, I’ll give it a try and replace it. /Joakim

9 flashes is continuous water fill – inlet valve jammed open or computer not turning off the water valve.

thanks for your help!
I think E9 means actually that there’s some water in the machine left which the pump didn’t manage to get entirely out – the very simple solution was pouring a couple of pints of boiling water in the machine cleaned everything and now it works as new…! 😀 -
