Yesterday afternoon, my fridge freezer decided to have a hissy fit and stop the freezer getting down to the normal -22.
Opened up the back compartment to find the fan blades had sheared off the motor.
Tried a basic fix with some epoxy resin type stuff, which worked for all of 30 mins 🙁I have found what appears to be the same fan/motor here which I will buy and fit myself.
The only problem is, how do I get the white plastic part, that the motor mounts into, out?
I can get it to a certain point, then it wont budge any further.
Do I have to take out everything in the bottom compartment to get at it or is there another way.Thanks
FLHP.S. Anyone else get stressed out by the poor quality screws Hotpoint use? There is barely enough head on the screw for my socket set to bite one.

You have to push the fan off the motor spindle then the motor comes out to the side in between the plastic supports.
Replacing it you put the loose fan in first then the motor goes in as you took it out.
The slightly tricky bit is you then have to pull the fan back onto the motor spindle.It will only go on one way so look at the semi circle shape of the spindle and fan hole.
If your old motor is still turning you only need to replace the fan probably.
If when putting it back you notice the fan hitting the housing push/pull the fan along the spindle until you get clearance or very slightly loosen one of the three screws.
Some models had a pozi screw others had a 5.5mm socket.Re: Hotpoint Fridge Freezer FF92P Fan motor problem.
Managed to get the fan and motor sideways in the mounting bracket, so the fan points upwards.
Will try some more epoxy as I can get better access to it now and can do a better job, fingers crossed.
If it fails again, I will replace the lot, unless, anyone knows a source of just the fan?
