Hoover Washer – Performance 1100 HPM110 – Drum doesn’t move!

🙁 😳 Washing machine (Hoover Performance 1100 HPM110) drum doesn’t move. At the end of a cycle clothes are still soaking wet. Started hearing drum problems over the last few days, a sort of thumping sound and whinning whilst spinning. Tried a spin cycle on its own and nothing happens, so then tried a rinse cycle and the drum doesn’t move at all. Is this a motor problem and are motor parts avaliable for purchase? I’m fairly techie and quiet happy to have a go, is someone able to talk me through replacing or identifying a faulty component? Or is it simply worth replacing a 5 year old washing machine? Please advise.

Quick response would be nice, as there is only so many times you can turn your clothes inside out!
