hello, my machine pumps water in and then will not work the cycle indicator lights have 2 flashing 2nd and 4th. I had a hotpoint engineer fit me a heater element in january but am reluctant to call them if its not the problem. Is there anything else I can check?
    Thank you.

2 + 4 is a ‘no heat’ fault. If the heater has failed it will be under guarantee.

The control PCB is also a very common cause of heater failure on these machines. You cannot check that.

when I pull the machine out and tilt it water comes out of the base I have read that this could mean an internal leak, is there a part I could check for this?

A flooded base should cause the drain pump to run continuously and give a different error code.

Several things could cause a leak, even a badly fitted heater 😉

It can also be caused by oversoaping due to using 3 in 1 tablets.
