Called this morning but was a bit pushed for time as she had to leave for work.
No heat complaint. Element and two rear stats OK. Wasn’t sure if there was another stat but having a look at tech info when I got home reveals a drum exhaust stat, is this prone to failure?

I did also notice that the motor action stuttered once or twice, as if there was a poor contact within the control timer.

    Hi Jim,

Take the plastic panel off below the dryer door, there is a stat in there that will cause this fault. On sios it is in position 5570.

Don’t know about the motor stutter though, one I haven’t saw before.

Hi John, thats the stat I spotted on the diagram. need to see if she wants it doing, its also very noisy, sounds like the front wheels have gone as well as the timer problem.

    Hi Jim

The motor stutter could be the timer itself. The front sealing gasket comes off causing warm air to rise into the timer….if you wiggle the timer in the stuttering position it will stop and start so it will need a new one. Usually the front fan sealing gasket comes off as well….If the heater and stats on the heater are ok the exhaust stat is at front of machine behind the front kick plate….

I suspected the timer, it was obviously a bad contact. Having spoken to the woman on the phone I think we are both agreed that this will have to be a BER. 😥
