ParticipantHi,
We had the fridge prob last year and the evap cover change sorted that however……..
this morning I suspect I didn’t close freezer door as well as I needed to (although it didn’t beep at me). When my wife came home this afternoon with shopping she noticed that the freezer despite saying -21C on display, certainly wasn’t that cool. Having switched it off on the freezer currently says -9C. It isn’t making ice and despite pressing the power cool button nothing changes. 🙁Diagnostic display – all leds are alight – which is good I think?.
Is a defrost (i.e switch it off for 24hrs) likely to sort it or does it sound like something more serious?
If this question has been answered before then apologies – please point me to it, I searched through quite a few old posts but there are stacks of them now and most relate to the fridge issue.
Thanks in advance for your help
Paul

Hi
If you did leave the door open less than 1/2″ then the light switch will think that the door is closed and will turn on the cooling fan which will cause the freezer to defrost.
Turn the whole appliance off overnight with both doors left open then tomorrow restart as normal.
The correct temprature settings are -20 for freezer +3 for fridgeBryan

Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately I didn’t see it until this morning!
Switching it on and off for 5 minutes last night seems to have done the trick. Came down this morning and freezer is back to -20C.
However once the contents have run down I’ll take your advice and leave it switched off overnight to defrost as there is a little ice on some of the shelves. The ice maker is also making ice again 😀
Thought I was looking at another £100 gone!
I have deliberately tried to leave the freezer door ajar this morning also but it always self closes, I think there was something in one of the door panels that had leant forward stopping it from closing completely. Will keep an eye out for that from now on.
