    Hello,

    all the cookers I have looked at come with catalytic stay clean liners. These seem to make the oven sizes rather small. Will an oven still work ok if I remove these linings or are ovens now designed to work best with them in situ ? (Thinking of how the air circulates in an electric fan oven) These liners used to be optional extras a few years ago but seem standard now. I never cook meat or roast anything that spits a lot of fat so cleaning our oven is not too daunting. I would rather have the extra space in the oven if possible.

    Hi

    If you were to remove the liners, where and how would the wire shelves mount? The shelf racks are attached to the liners either by the ladder type of rack or the shelf grooves are part of the liner.

    There may be technical issues as well, which someone else may be able to chip in with 😉


    If you can post back whether it`s gas/ electric, freestanding / built in and any measurement reuirements, I`ll try and help out

    Thank you for reply. I thought there might be issues as liners nowadays seem to be part of the oven rather than an “add on” like they used to be.

    At the moment I have a double oven Cannon which doesn’t have the ladder system and the liners just seem to be screwed on. The range cooker I’m considering will be a Falcon – 900 deluxe, 1000,or at a push (space wise) Continental.

    I shall have to take my baking trays into our local dealer and see if they will fit. The brochures give oven dimensions but I’m not sure if that takes into account the liners and rack support system.

    A good idea taking baking trays with you at least you will know for sure that they will fit. Normally when the manufacturers quote oven capacities it is usually the usable space.

    Let us know the outcome, you never know someone else may have the same questions at a later date.

    Is it a 1000 you have seen in the flesh ?

    If so that does have a smaller oven than the 900 or 1100 versions.
