Looked at this Samsung RS21 and the fridge unit was iced up and upon testing the defrost heater is open circuit. The drain heater is OK and the drain is not blocked but unit is iced at the top of the evapourator. Looked on the Samsung spares website but could not find defrost heater as a separate part. Do I have to buy the complete evapourator unit? If so I would probably remove the heater and fit just that as I don’t have any gas equipment. No doubt someone has encountered this , so any helpful advice gratefully recieved.

That’s what we do in most cases, watch out though as those fins are sharp.
