Hi I’ve just moved into a new house to find the oven is RUBBISH.

So I need to buy a new one but have no idea what to look out for and what to buy. I’ve also no idea how much I should spend, so would around £500 be too much or too little (I’ve lots of other things to buy at the minute so less would be better)

Ideally I would like an electric fan oven. What are the best options out there for me?

Thanks a lot for your help,
    Steve

Good potboiler (pun intentional 😀 ) HERE.

If you need specific info, you’ll need to tell us what you are replacing – single, double, built under, built in, stainless etc.

Um…sorry I’m not sure what all that means.

All I can do is describe it as follows:

It’s electric but not a fan oven.
Doesn’t have a separate grill, just appears to have one door to one oven.
I think it’s a built under if that means built in under a worktop which has a hob cut into it above.
White, so not stainless steel. Although I like the idea of having a stainless steel replacement.

Thanks for replying so quick Penguin45

So, you want a single fan oven, in stainless! Don’ll be on the case in the morning…. 😀

    I looked but obviously didn`t see 😳

Must make an appointment for Specsavers :rolls: 😆

In that case most definately the Neff B1442 it is a well made machine with good spec and features without being over fussy, easy to use, has a two year warranty backed up by a nationwide service, comes with a two year warranty and comes in under budget as well.

Thanks so much everyone for replying so rapidly!

And thanks Don for recommending the Neff oven. £500 was really the maximum I was willing to pay so what are the next ones down from the Neff?

Aesthetically, I like the look of these John Lewis ovens…reminds me of the supercomputer, HAL for some reason. 😆

They look to have extra bells and whistles too. Multi-function and one have top and bottom heat settings and are cheaper or same price than the Neff…which is always good! 😀

When it comes down to features against build quality, longevity of life, reliability and ease of use I know where I`d be looking 😉

Use Chromol 500ml stainless steel cleaner to keep stainless looking good.

Hmm ok I guess your right.

I’ve re-evaluated my budget now though and £300 is about all I can afford. 🙁

Sorry to mess you about but what’s available to me in this price bracket?

    Hi

    There are still some good buys in that price range. My pick of the bunch in no particular order would be;

As per your previous post this is a good machine normally produced by the Electrolux group and with it`s 3 year warranty is a good buy

This AEG is from the same stable as the John Lewis as abaove but in a different skirt.

If you can go the extra half a mile then the Gorenje with it`s five year warranty is a good bet

Don`t forget to order some Chromol 500mlstainless steel cleaner to keep your appliance looking good.
