This machine exhibits various faults at different times. It stops full of water at the end of the cycle, and sometimes goes through programme 4, 60 degrees, in 20 minutes without heating properly. [I did suspect that the customer had the economy button pushed in but when I went round after this had happened it wasn’t]. They also tell me that the drum rotation on wash is very sluggish but I haven’t yet seen this for myself, and that sometimes the timer doesn’t move from the first postion of programme 4 although the water warms up but doesn’t get to 60 degrees. The thermistor resistance appears to be ok as its resistance changes with temperature but whether its calibration is ok I don’t know. The pump operates satisfactorily when set to drain.

Presumably it’s the timer or the module at fault, but anybody know which?

    Thanks,

    Geoff

Module more likely – timer is a slave unit; never changed one yet. Oxidised contacts possible – clean the board contacts and nip up the edge connectors – might sort it. Timer only moves when the board tells it to.
