    Hi can anyone solve this problem, i have a american style samsung fridge freezer about 5yrs old, it has twin cooling fans 1 for each compartment, problem is over the last few weeks the fan i believe is making a loud noise when its cooling the fridge, once door opens the noise slows down as if the fan is stopping then when the door is closed and fan kicks in it starts again, it only happens every now and again but its loud when it does, everything else works fine, anyone know what it could be and what price maybe to sort out? i live in county durham and anyone who can fix the problem or is it time to buy a new one?

    Ice hitting fan makes noise, but the causes vary between the models.

    Hi

    Likely cause is either a defrost problem on the fridge evaperator & or evaperator cover.

    Have you tried Repairs@ for a engineer ?

    Hi mate sorry the model is RS21NCMS the fan sounds like a loud whirling noise, and when you open the fridge door its a knocking noise as the fan slows down etc, at the moment its working fine but tomorrow could and no doubt will be different.

    Cheers gegsy and r600a, also noticed on this site about samsung repairing this fault free of charge, something to do with the watchdog programme, mine is still under 5 yrs old, what you think guys?

    If your appliance is less than 5yrs old then yes they will cover the repair F.O.C.
