    Hi,
My fridge freezer had suddenly stopped working. The freezer is fine but fridge is not cooling. It’s in my conservatory which gets really cold in winter so the ambient switch has been on, it’s not cold now so could that have caused the problem? I have switched the ambient off now but has made no difference.

Incidentally the fridge and freezer were damaged during our house move in January and one of the pipes at the back with the cooling liquid was punctured. I had it fixed by a qualified engineer and it’s been fine ever since.

It hasn’t been moved and as the freezer is still working I don’t understand how the fridge part could suddenly stop working.

I’ll call the engineer out if I have to but it costs £125 so if anyoen has any advice on possibly sorting it out myself (if it’s a simple problem) then I’d really appreciate it.

    With thanks,

    Andrea

    your defrost timer is faulty

for immediate results, a 48hr defrost will make it work for a few days

the defrost timer is on the back, in a plastic box to the left of the compressor

production number required to get correct part ( on sticker inside fridge)

not a bad job, as long as you unplug it….but whatever you do, it will need defrosting, so its a good start

    Re: Zanussi fridge freezer ZEBF255W

Thanks for your reply, I’m trying to use the food up in the freezer so I can defrost it. Incidentally the fridge section is cooling VERY slightly (not enough to keep food for long)…. does that still sound like the defrost timer?

    Thanks again.
