ParticipantThis is for most Smeg owners ( and the fitted unit clones) but is about my 409.
Problem, machine stops part way through cycle full of water, not pumping out, ah I thinks “pumps broken” so I buy a new one but no it still wont work.
now I start to peruse the web for ideas and find a few sites including this one harping on about error codes this n that, when my machine did not come up with one listed in the manual unless I pressed buttons in an attempt to stir something and I would get a flooding code, but it is bone dry (by the way I found a way to empty machine using the flood sensor – if you have access opened up already just lift the float and the pump will run) so its not that.
after much reading it sounded like a circuit board gone done so I got one of them but still no good 😡 next item that crops up on the culprits list was the mains suppressor new one fitted again no good 😡 so after even more searching and reading up I find a mention of the soap dispenser solenoid packing up and causing the circuit board to malfunction.
So off I go and and get one and its worked 8)
Moral of the story 💡
start with the cheapest item (suppressor) and work your way up the list 😳 oh and listen to you machine it talks to you, prior to it breaking I can remember hearing the solenoid chattering as it opened the soap door but I got distracted by all the talk of Error codes on the web and went the wrong way in my hunt for the culprit.ps.
Thanks to the Penguin for the hint in a post about the solenoid just wish I had found it sooner, oh and don’t be daunted from have a look yourself the machine although complex are relatively easy to strip down and fix as long as you know which bit to change 👿
pps.
I now have spare a
1) Pump
2) Circuit board
3) Suppressorneed one you know where to come 👿
