ParticipantMy Bosch WFF 1401 works pefectly on the 30 degree setting, but when I increase the temperature, it will click through the programme and the motor runs but nothing happens (no water fill, spinning, etc.) The machine is hooked up to cold water. It is a second-hand machine and I do not know its history. Is this a problem with the thermostat? Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? In addition, the machine has started to smell moldy/musty and because I cannot do any hot water washes I cannot kill the stinky bacteria. I would appreciate any help!

I think I would start by looking at the hot water valve (la soupape chaude d’eau).
Stay safe, power off.

Je n’ai pas trรจs bien compris (maybe it is the british sarcasm?…) do you mean that it should be hooked up to hot water as well? the instruction manual only refers to the water tap (singular) and every other machine I have had has only had a cold water inlet….

No sarcasm intended – the UK version of this machine uses hot and cold water fill; hence turning up the the thermostat would bring on the hot water.
I shall see what else I can find out.

Hi Liz
Hows about the full model number off the door inner or the rear so we can be sure where we are going. ๐Greg

Hi Greg,
The number in full is WFF 1401 GB/01 FD 8003 03014
The machine is actually originally from GB; it immigrated maybe 5 years ago, but it must be clandestine because I can’t find its paperwork…. ๐
Salut Penguin, hope you got the french humour…. ๐
How would I turn up the thermostat? I have removed the back cover and now do not know what to do next…June 3, 2008 at 9:31 pm #253643Penguin45

Weird – that one definitely has a hot water and a cold water inlet valve……

It maybe as penguin said, its looking for the hot valve.
No need for the back off, just take lid off and measure the hot solenoid (disconnected); should read app 2.7 – 3.3k ohms if ok.Power off first :plug:

Has anyone thought of using a ‘Y connector’ and coupling the “singular” water supply to the hot as well? ๐
