    We mainly use cycle ‘D’ which is a mixed wash for non fast coloureds at 40c.

    I think we have a fault with something as often the cycle seems to last forever and the water is so hot you cannot touch the glass door.

    Has anyone else experienced this fault or have any ideas? The washer is only a few months old.

    Thanks;

    EW1013, was wondering if thermostat has gone, might explain long cycle time and very hot temperatures

    Unlikely to be the thermostat, it doesn’t have one.

    It could just be a simple broken timer control knob. It would be out of line and you would be selecting the wrong programme.

    If you hold the programme indicator with your fingers, can you move it backwards and forwards without using the control knob and without any discernible clicks ?

    I have seen this a few times on similar Zanussi based machines.

    If the temperature controller ( NTC or thermistor ) had failed the machine would quite possibly have boiled your washing.

    Control knob seems OK and yes it did boil the washing!

    Thermistor is sticking out of the drum on the bottom right. It should read approx. 11kOhm at room temperature.

    Replacement is p/no 1249280-01/5 – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.

    Power off if you intend to investigate this yourself.

    Finally got guy in to repair; part was burnt out.

    However still seems to heat water too much and takes over 2hrs to complete a 40c cycle wash…is this normal?
