I have killed yet another machine. This time a nice aeg lavamat which lasted a whole 9 months which is a record. I am now fed up with buying domestic machines as they just can’t cope with the sheer volume of really filthy laundry I am doing.
I’m now looking at heavy duty, semi professional machines. My one query is that most seem to need both hot and cold fill and I have only cold water in the utility room. I have got around this by using a splitter on the pipe and connecting both hoses to the cold and just allow the washing machine to heat the water.
I would really have liked a top loader but it seems like most are American made, with no heater in, so need actual hot water to go in for the wash.
Does anyone know oif a HD top loader with a heater which costs around £500?
Failing that, could anyone recommend a large capacity heavy duty washer even if it is front loading? Help please as I’ve a veritable mountain of smelly laundry, growing bigger by the day.

    Hi fenwoman,

The simple fact of it is this, if you are killing a standard domestic machine that fast then £500 is not going to buy you anything that will put up with that sort of use. Commercial machines generally start at ~£1000 for a basic 5kg load 12 or 1400 spin. If you want more capacity or features then the price ramps up, a lot.

It really depends on how much laundry you’re doing what you will need to buy.

Might be worth considering renting a machine:
