Can anybody help. My Zanussi has started leaving a very hard white film coating on everthing. I,ve checked salt and rinse levels and they are ok. Someone on the forum has mentioned water softener. Does this sound like my problem and is it something I can attempt to put right, Any advise would be great .

Firstly I am no expert, but you could try to give the water board a ring and ask them how hard is your water on the clarke scale. Depending on the result you will then need to adjust your water softner & your rinse aid dispenser settings. i.e turn them up or turn them down depending on your current settings. It sounds as if the settings need tweaking!

Chance you are over dosing on salt as this leaves a white film especially on glasses. Try using 3in1 add salt and rinse aid as normal and turn down / up your softner setting.

The other fault can be the seal on your salt cap has perished or you have not tightened it up enough.l 😀
