PCB…….. The noise like cogs on top of the heater is the cogs on top of the heater – the alternator mechanism is still getting a supply.

I have this reported fault to deal with tomorrow.
Is it just a module fault or something causing the module to go like the motor in the heater shorting?

    Its most likely a SGI56A05GB/35 😉
As Chris said, it will most likely be module 489422 – £70.79 + the usual, retail.

If you find the module ‘blown’ and there is a grinding noise from the water point motor , it could very well be the little motor seizing up , blowing the control module component. Sometimes its neccesary to change module AND Instaneous water heater .

    Hi Guys,
I have never had this problem and to be frank I haven’t a clue about what is being discussed in this thread.
    Alternator mechanism??? Water point motor???

Has anybody got any pictures. so that I may be elucidated and perhaps learn something new. I may need it in the future.
