    hi,
i’ve seen various posts about this but i can’t seem to find them-sorry if i’m going down old ground here.

belt fitting tool for HPT/ind dryers , connect part number 5045170988043

is it any good?is it obvious how to use it when you get one?
i’m fed up of struggling to get the 1860H9 hpt TD belts on, and thought this might make life easier, can any one give it the thumbs up or is it a waste of £35

    thanks guys.

The tool is only for vented dryers but it makes the job a complete doddle. The end slots into a hole the base and two small arms go over the belt which you then lever down and over the pulleys, takes seconds.

THIS is the thread you are looking for, there is a picture of the tool on page #3.

Here’s a tip on fitting Crosslee belts, and should work on the Creda ones.

Get yourself a Tricity Bendix oven door handle, 3116132006 (comes as a pair). Pull off one end cap/piece, and then the hollow end put over the motor shaft as you “roll” the belt along into place. The remaining end piece/cap (which will be in your hand) you use to rotate the belt into place.

Alternatively use a long-reach socket on an extension.

I’m sure Martin will concur that once you haved used the Hotpoint special tool nothing else comes anywhere near it for of ease of use.

Well worth the money. ( even if I had mine made for me at no cost ) 😉

‘Tis true…… it was ever thus….. without my special tool I’d be lost for a purpose it’s fair to say 😉 8)
