Why do manufacturers make their instructions so convoluted ?

All I want to know is

    a) what heat is being used to dry the clothes e.g low or high and
b)how long it will take to finish the cycle.

I rarely use all the functions on any of my machines.

This dryer has a cotton setting , an easy care setting and 2 timed functions.

OK. I understand the cotton setting. Max load 7kg, different degrees of sensor drying from iron dry (always too damp to iron) to extra dry and I presume uses high heat ?

Now Easycare. Max load 3.5kg. It says for non iron synthetics drying from iron dry 😯 (see I told you) to Very dry. Is this still high heat or is it low heat?

It doesn’t take much to confuse me. 😕

There is a half heat option button. Would you use this on cottons and easy care? Why half heat with a sensor dryer?

If it is a sensor dryer and you put a load on half heat does it take twice as long to dry as the same load on the normal setting ? Stay with me here.

    Next the timed programmes.

Warm 40 minutes and Freshen up 20 mins. What heat is freshen up? It doesn’t say. I presume Warm?

    Last question.

If the washing has come in from the garden and is still a bit damp but not as wet as straight from the machine and I put it in the dryer on, for example, cottons cupboard dry, will it do a reduced time from normal by virtue of the sensor or the normal wet washing time?

OK…now you can talk about me in the staffroom :rolls: 😆

Cottons – high heat, sensor dry.
Easycares – low heat, sensor dry.
Half heat is an option on timed dry.
As far as I remember, Freshen Up is 10 minutes low heat, 10 minutes heat off.
As for partly dried loads, the sensor function figures it out pretty quickly, as it measures a differential temperature gradient between front and rear temperature sensors. This means that a wet load will absorb loads of heat, so the air is cool as it passes the front sensor. A partially dry load will not absorb as much heat, therefore the air passing the front sensor is warmer. The computer interprets the differential between the front and rear sensors and programmes itself accordingly.

If you could make that coffee with two sugars and a couple of digestives, I’ll tell you what Gegsy in 4C has been up to……….. 😀

You never disappoint me Penguin. I would have no problem in being tea monitor for you lovely boys !!! although I am a little worried about what our Gegsy has been up to 😯

Thanks for that info. If only they explained it simply like you ( and I even understand all the differentials) it would make the customer’s life easier. I can’t be doing with all these new fangled grids and hints in the instruction booklet . :taz: Just state the facts Bosch !!
