ParticipantHi wonder if you can give any pointers to a problem I have with my Delonghi ESS601W. All of the oven functions are dead – oven, grill, fan whilst the hob is still working OK. There is no indicator light on the front when the oven is switched on. The thermostat appears to be working (clicks as turn it), but not tested directly.
Is there some sort of cut-out or fuse for the oven functions? I have previously done a fair bit of work on the cooker (changing fan, element) so any pointers on where to look etc would be much appreciated.
*** EDIT**** Just seen in Shop@ that there is an Oven Safety thermostat for this model. Is this a non resettable thermostat – ie will I need to replace if it has tripped. Any tips on where it is located would be much appreciated as it sounds as though this could be the culprit. If it has tripped, I guess the question is why.
Many Thanks
William

Participantits on the rear of the TOP oven cavity
more than likely your culprit
its usually around where the lamp holder is

Many Thanks helo_75. I was expecting it to be in the oven rather than the cavity above the oven, so your guidance was very useful
I checked the safety thermostat with a multimeter but it appears to be closed circuit so looks like this is working OK. The only other component in the circuit is the Oven function selector, so that must be the problem. I will get it out to check it. Need to make myself a wiring diagram of the cooker so that I can confirm with the multimeter to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain.
I now need to check whether I can get this from the Uk Whitegoods shop.
Many Thanks

William,
you might want to chech the Mains terminal block at rear of oven these do on occasions burn out due to poor quality of this component.
Just a thought

ps there are 4 neutrals wires , 4 live wires all twinned together x 2 and one may have come off resulting loss of feed to other funtions as the grill appears to be working

Many thanks for the helpful tip Yes I will certainly check this out. Almost looked at it last night, but thought there wouldn’t be a problem there.

i fancy it will be the selector switch
if you take it off and look at the connections on the underside they will be burnt and raised

Many thanks I will do a check. Looks like I can just about get to the screws holding the selector switch after taking the knob off, without having to take out the whole white panel. No big deal anyway, but I am sure that amateurs like me, end up taking too much apart as they don’t know the shortcuts!. A job for the weekend!

If you wish to inspect the selector switch properly, the oven will have to come out of the housing and the lid will have to come off. You won’t be able to get at anything from the front.
