I’ve just had a bosch sms50e02gb plumbed in yesterday the guy did a test wash to make sure ok. So today i thought i would have a go (new to dishwashers and excited about this), I put salt in, rinse aid and powder put it on to wash and noticed the salt light is still on. Can someone please tell me where I’ve gone wrong. Want to have it all working ok before hubby gets in from work as he thinks I don’t need one and I need to prove him wrong!! lol Also the guy who plumbed it it said I don’t need salt or rinse aid but I think I do can someone please clarify. Thanks 😕

First thing is how much salt did you put in? Salt chamber needs to be brimming. also did you fill the salt chamber with water first, if not put water in too. Run it through a rinse and if it’s still on after all that then there may be a fault. To see if you need salt and rinse aid as well as tablets the best way is to use it and if wash performace is poor then you need all three. It depends on what the water is like in your area. I have to use two tablets sometimes in mine and salt and rinse aid but it still beats washing up eh!!
