    Hi,

    I wondered if anyone would be able to help? I have a Hotpoint FFA97 fridgefreezer.

    Freezer is running fine (-22), fridge is not cooling (+14). When the door shuts I can briefly hear the fan kick in.

    So, questions:
    – Is it worth trying a defrost?
    – If not, help!! 😕

    By way of background, prior to this the fridge was making a terrible noise when the door was shut – it sounded as if it was coming from the back of the freezer.

    the noise was the fan catching on ice, probably now jammed, so no air getting blown up into the fridge, a 24hr defrost should clear any ice build up,
