I had a error message of a single flashing light (intensive) which I deduced from the posts on here was due to the anti-flood switch, and sure enough there was water in the base. I drained that out and isolated the leak to the out let hose at hte point the hose joins the rubber that fixed to the pump. In fiddling with it I also got a leak at the point the hose goes through the back of the machine – is this hose very delicate?

After all that I have two questions:

    1) Whats the best way to take the hose off?- I took the side panel off, but it looks like access might be better if I took the back off – but there seem to be a lot ofthings fixed to theback

    2) Whats the best way to lossen the clamp on the hose? It’s a wire spring rather than a jubilee clip and looks pretty viscious. I was going to use a small mole grip, but wasn’t going to touch it until I have the hose.

Any thoughts or advice gratefully recieved.

These hose clips do cause problems, some members of the trade use ‘side cutters’ to refit them, personally I refit the hoses with jubilee clips, however you will need thin jubilee clips.

Apparently most local Vauxhall spares departments do have clips that are the correct size.

Do not be tempted to use plastic bag ties to refit, they will come adrift.

PS. Its not just the hose that is delicate, it is an Indesit machine after all. :rolls:
