Hi there, I know this is a whitegoods forum, but I’m really stuck with a problem on my worcester bosch 24i RSF combi-boiler. Can anyone help please? There was no hot water, no pressure on the gauge, so I topped it up with water, which started leaking out. I took the front panels off and found that it’s leaking water from the automatic air vent. There is a clear flexible tube underneath this, that I think may be a vent, which is also filled with water, I don’t think it should be. I think it’s been seeping water from the auto air vent for a while as it has some corrosion round it, and on the casing underneath. There was no flame on the burner. I’ve isolated the electricity now. Any suggestions gratefully received.

What pressure did you put in? I have the same boiler which I run at 1 Bar. There is a knob on the pressure release valve (situated inside on the far left, above the safety discharge outlet) If you turn that anticlockwise you can release water from the system to reduce the pressure.

    Re: worcester bosch combi boiler

thank you phidom, the pressure info was helpful. I’ve now deduced that I need to replace the auto air vent, which is for the central heating side. the reason there was no hot water is that the leaked water got into the air pressure switch, which shut the boiler down. Reading through forums on the subject, it seems quite common for these auto air valves to leak, but it looks easy enough to remedy. Regards, Tracey
